Ecuador
I just wanted to let everyone know about an exciting piece of news I received today. Last semester, in one of my classes, my teacher talked about the Orphanage Support Service Organization. This is an organization based in Rexburg. They send volunteers down to Ecuador for a few months to work in orphanages. I thought it sounded very worthwhile and something that I would like to do. So I applied for it. I heard back from them today and they asked me a few questions. Afterwards, they told me that they wanted to accept me. There are two cities that OSSO are located in Ecuador: Quito and Cuenca. I was accepted in the Quito section. I leave on September 4th and will return home on November 25th. I finish work in the orphanage on the 21st of November but OSSO is taking the volunteers on a four day trip in the Amazon. I'm really excited for the whole experience. I think it will be a wonderful and growing experience for me!
